Within the “Reuse” [Re-use] initiative (November 2014 to October 2015) of the MED-3R project, the municipality of Genoa is pleased to present its four new approaches that assert the creative side of the city:
This approach comprises laboratories, seminars and other events, as well as an exhibition of sculptures and prototypes created by young artists between 18 and 35 years old, individuals or teams. This exhibition comes after a contest launched on a Euro-Mediterranean scale, and which aimed to provide a second life to plastic waste through a creative re use.
The inauguration will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2015, at 6 p.m, and the exhibition will be open to the public from April 30, to June 14, 2015. It will take place in the Sala Cuspide of Palazzo Verde, a green building for environmental education and information, and whose aim would reside in sensitizing new generations on the major energy challenges of our era.
This approach highlights the characteristics of the public spaces already foreseen for the art installations, within a plastic and contemporary art context. Work production will take place from July 24 to 29, 2015, and the exhibition will be held from July 30, to October 11, 2015, at Palazzo Ducale in Matteotti square.
Shot foresees the participation of young artist between 18 and 35 years old, individuals or teams, and coming from the MED-3R countries (France, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon and Tunisia). These artists will be the key players of the scheduled exhibitions, workshops, meetings, installations and performances.
With the recycle and use of a plastic material, Shot will provide a deep dialogue between architecture and contemporary language. It will offer an invasive transformation that uses different elements to connect in and outdoor spaces, art and society, contemplation and participation.
Production of artworks will take place from September 4 to 9, 2015, and the exhibition will be held from September 11, to October 11, 2015, and to its inauguration on Thursday, September 10, 2015, at 6 p.m. This exhibition will be open to the public and will take place at the Sala Dogana of Palazzo Ducale in Matteotti square, a 150 m2 space, dedicated for young creativity, cultural production and experimentation, development of new trends and contamination of expressions.
This approach is dedicated for public spaces to be transformed into a designed open-air museum at a very specific urban area. Small creative actions, artistic interventions, urban design elements and utilitarian objects that may fit into the everyday life by simplifying or developing public spaces (the “Get together” action), will be presented during this exhibition. The aim resides in representing solutions that show sustainable alternatives to common behavior, while taking into consideration the environmental issues. Production of artworks will take place from September 4 to 9, 2015, and the exhibition will be held from September 11, to October 11, 2015, and to its inauguration on Thursday, September 10, at 5:30 p.m. This exhibition will be open to the public and will take placefrom Matteotti square to via del Molo, passing by San Lorenzo.
